My first single author eBook, Drawn to Darkness, will be out November 7th, 2011 from Noble Romance Publishing!!! It is a dark short about blossoming sexuality, obsession and madness. I just received the cover art and it's fantastic! The ghoul in the background is deliciously creepy. Here's a blurb:
Margaret, servant in a sinister manor in the English countryside, suspects there is more to her employer than meets the eye. Haunted by the mysterious legacy of the Delaronde family and their cursed estate, the young woman finds herself increasingly drawn to the diabolical and enticing menace that seems always lurking just out of sight. What are the secrets that Mr. Delaronde keeps, and why does the ancient history of his heritage seem to ignite her darkest desires?
I've finally found the time to read--well, at least a little bit--between writing and editing and childbots and the neverending succession of birthday parties and holidays this time of year. I had been wanting to check out J.S. Wayne's work, because of the great reviews he's received and because of those awesome book covers! I mean, who could resist....
<------------ THAT?!
I started with Wayne's story "Angels Would Fall":
Moradiel collects souls for the angel of death and has been charged to collect Ariel's soul one fateful night. The angel finds himself mysteriously attracted to Ariel, and saves her from impending death. Their relationship blossoms from there. It's hard often times to find a quick read that's got all the bells and whistles: believable characters with believable emotions and motivation, a well-built world and, let's not forget, hot romance. Angels Would Fall accomplishes all of this and more! Wayne is a great writer who creates a lush, sensual world from word one. This is definitely an author to follow.
Then I read "Angels of the Morning" and was just as pleasantly rewarded as I was with "Angels Would Fall". This is a brief look into the lives of Aurora and Benoth, heavenly spouses separated when Benoth was cast downward after choosing the wrong side in a heavenly battle. The two have finally found time to meet secretly, much to Aurora's joy. I loved this story because it was filled with all sorts of references to the greater world Wayne has built with this series, and the couple's reunion sex is smokin' hot! I want more!
